The kindness of strangers

Happy Memorial Day! :)

I'm currently posting from my shiny new laptop - purchased today with the moral support of my sister and the excellent help of a wonderful Best Buy employee. I also have shiny new wireless, which due to a complication with my ISP was not as easy as I had hoped. But an excellent tech helped me to fix that after I gave up three hours after starting. (Word of advice - sometimes it's okay to call for help right away ::headdesk::)

So far I've only put my yahoo toolbar on it, because I use IE but not its bookmarks and I need yahoo to access all the good things I have saved. I have to update to Word at some point but this is a supplement not a replacement for my desktop so I have time.

Thanks for all the help and advice. You all made me feel more informed walking into the store and that made me more confident in my final decision.
