Love this! Love the merging and melding of then-Jack and now-Jack. Also love that the therapist is helpful. And the shock-and-then-joy on Jack's face at the end, so brief but encapsulates so much. The serenity of the trees is lovely, and drenches the fic in a peacefulness that Daniel's straining-to-remember and Jack's concern struggle against and then beautifully relax into. The tension merges into peacefulness in parallel with then-Jack merging into now-Jack. Mmmmm.
