I used to never do anything but post fic here, but as you've all become my friends I've found myself wanting to keep you in the loop. So just quickly, work has me busy and tired but at the end of the month I switch back over to the seasonal side of things. I like it better and for awhile it'll be less busy than I am currently. So put that in the yay column.

Unfortunately I've gotten some horrible, scary news about my Dad. He's been in liver failure for awhile and he was hospitalized over the weekend because toxins built up in his bloodstream and caused swelling in his brain. He's going home today and when I last spoke to him he knew who I was and even teased me about my political leanings. But when I asked my stepmother about getting tested as a donor, she said it's too expensive unless the transplant board arranges it, and they likely won't because he's 'near to death' was the phrase she used. In that she doesn't mean he's going to keel over any second, I assume, but that he's progressed so far. I mean they sent him home and we were told not to rush right up there.

He's been a hypochondriac his whole life, so I admit I haven't been as concerned about his health as I apparently should have been. Also, denial is my coping method of choice so I'm just gonna assume they're all over reacting. He's been 'dying' in his own words for years. Still, if you could spare a prayer, a thought, some positive energy his way. It'd mean a lot to me.

In fannish news, I'm so close to finishing my first big bang I can practically taste it. I'm also nearly done with my claim for smallfandomfest, and I finally started my mcshep_match story. I thought it was going to be part of a longer story, but it's actually standing pretty well on its own. But I'm going to shut up about it now so I don't give away which is mine.
