Soliciting advice and opinions
May. 27th, 2010 09:13 pmI've been kind of vaguely wanting a laptop for awhile now, and I feel like nowish is a good time for me. However, I get a little overwhelmed when looking (as I have no idea where to start) and usually decide my desktop is fine, which it really isn't. Any help/advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Netbook vs laptop? What's a good brand for the only mildly tech savvy? What the heck's a mobile hotspot and do I need one? How much RAM do I need? I haven't a clue.
I would be using it primarily for...well, this. Work doesn't even allow outside email so I have no need (or ability) to do work on it. Word is a must obviously. The ability to watch movies would be a plus but not a necessity. And right off hand, that's all I can think of that I'd need.
Oh, and I'm a PC girl, so please don't try to sell me on the joys of a Mac. I'm not a fan.
