Early Morning
Jack woke with a start in his dark bedroom. He tracked the sound of footsteps up the stairs and into the master bath through the hall door. Daniel. Or the world’s least stealthy thief.
“Daniel?” he called. It never hurt to double check.
The bedroom door opened at the sound of his voice and Daniel, clad only in boxers, stepped into the room. “It’s me.”
“Time is it?” Jack squinted at the alarm.
“Very, very early,” Daniel answered as he slipped into bed and Jack’s waiting arms.
“Good,” Jack yawned, pulling Daniel closer. “Wake me when it’s very, very late.”
