I read this last night right before I collapsed into bed, but I did try to think about it a little. My probably-unhelpful conclusion was: unless you are planning to carry the story forward to the point where Sha're dies, there won't be a real resolution to the story. I'm not complaining about that, just pointing out that Future Events might joss any conclusions that Jack and Daniel reach sitting here on the couch. So something ambiguous and open-ended would actually work.
A "wait and see" approach, or a "let's think about this some more tomorrow," could work.
The only thing they could really resolve here and now, is whether they're going to continue to have sex. And since they're in love it wouldn't be entirely dastardly if the answer was 'yes.'
