Convention/Autograph advice?

I need some! As you may know, I'm going to the Stargate Convention in Chicago come August. I'm going pretty much to see/meet David Hewlett so I'm only going on Saturday when he'll be there. Mom has expressed an interest in going as well but she'd want to go Sunday and see Amanda Tapping (which I would love to do!) but we're still deciding that. Anyway, I know it's a way off but I'm super excited and already planning and plotting. I'm doing both the autograph and photo op with David and I'm wondering what I should have him sign?

I mean will the photo op be something he could sign with the timing of things? I assume there'll be pics there I could buy and have signed but I thought something fun might be better? Fanart? Does anyone take commissions? Thoughts? Ideas? Help please!

It can take a couple hours or more for photos to be ready to pick up, so until you've seen a schedule you won't know if getting the photo op signed is feasible. Even if it looks do-able, you should have something else ready as a backup, in case the photographer falls behind.

Thanks! I'd prefer the photo op since then I could frame it, but I'll be sure to track down a backup just in case. Perhaps my copy of A Dog's Breakfast... I'll think on it.

What sid said about photo op pics.

I'm pretty sure there will be pics to buy, which you could get signed. Fanart should be fine, as long as you avoid the, shall we say, NSFW variety. :-O I'm sure you would, but, trust me, I've seen some pretty dodgy stuff presented to actors to sign!

It might be worth checking the con's rules on what you can present for signing. I know some events only let you have one item per person, for example.

Thanks! I really want my photo op since then I could frame and hang it, but a piece of fanart I like seems like a good back up plan. No worries about the content. I'm already nervous I'll make a fool of myself without worrying about the appropriateness of the picture. :)
