Yep, I signed up. Something about this fandom makes me write epic fics, as you'll see next week when my dc_everafter fic goes up. Nevertheless, I'm nervous as all hell because my idea should be Dean/Cas with a side of Sam/Gabriel, but the Dean/Cas part isn't plotted out as the Sam/Gabriel stuff. Oh well, plenty of time for that, right?

They start to wear him down. Apparently, I fail completely at comment fic. Prompt: Dean is dismayed to find that Castiel has a new pet ... a baby dragon

Dean glared resolutely at a spot just over Castiel's right shoulder, ignoring the angel's pout. "Dean, he's just a baby. I couldn't leave him there all alone."

Dean threw his hands up in despair and exasperation. "It's a dragon! It's not exactly helpless."

Cas frowned and crossed his arms over his chest in a very human gesture of defense. "Of course he is. You just killed his mother." And damn if Cas didn't look at him reproachfully, like killing a fire-breathing, man-eating dragon was something shameful.

"Oh for the love of..." Dean turned around and stomped his way toward the door.

"Where are you going?" Castiel asked his retreating back.

"To buy a fire extinguer. I doubt this death trap of a hotel comes with one."

Anyone want to beta a Supernatural fic for me? Or know of someone who might be willing to help me out?

I really need help with flow and pacing. It's still very rough but it's at the point where I think I need some outside eyes to tell me what (if anything) is still missing, etc. I need some distance and perspective, but also someone encouraging. It's currently it's a tad under 10,000 words

Following David Hewlett and Misha Collins on Twitter has made me love them even more. Which was a feat I would have thought impossible until it actually happened.

Joe Flanigan - not so much. Dude, this stuff is public, please quit mentioning alcohol in every single post. In fairness - I did drop him after the third day for this very reason. It's possible he's stopped.

I think I wrote a Dean/Castiel schmoop_bingo fic for my 750words.com yesterday instead of one of the three fics in my writing fandoms that are due in July. Ummm, oops?

morganoconner has just posted the story she wrote me for pledge_a_thon.

True Colors. Dean/Castiel, Michael. PG. 6200 words. Dean is rather abruptly forced into a situation he hadn’t expected, and comes to some startling realizations because of it.

It's a bonding fic, and it's intensely beautiful. Character voices are spot-on. The language is gorgeous. Morgan makes you feel what Dean is feeling - uncertainty, connection, joy, doubt, love. The ending is as perfect as the rest of the fic. And as a bonus - there's a tantalizing hint of a tragedy in Gabriel's past that I'd love to see explored further.
